ComEd Joint Operations Center
EMA News

The Stephenson County Emergency Management Agency is working in conjunction with Commonwealth Edison to set up a Joint Operations Center should there be a major power outage in the Freeport Service area.  The Freeport Service Area covers Stephenson, Jo Daviess, Carroll and parts of Ogle County.

A major power outage is defined by having 20% of the customers in that area without power for a period longer than 3 hours.

The mission of the Joint Operations Center is to provide a direct connection for the governmental units in the effected area with Com Ed representatives.    The purpose of the Joint Operation Center deals with “life safety issues” in the effected area.
