Highway Incident Management Training
Training

There will be three(3) training sessions regarding how to manage highway incidents on March 28th and 29th.  This training brings together all agencies/persons who are most often the first on the scene of an incident (fire, accident, emergency road closure, etc.) into one training where we all can learn the laws, responsibilities and concerns of other agencies.  Highway Incident Management Training was developed by the State of Illinois and has been adopted nationwide.

At this time, this is the only scheduled training for Highway Incident Management Training in Northwest Illinois . This class is FREE and you must register by March 26 to attend.

The training is usually performed by a team of instructors representing the Illinois Department of Transportation, Illinois State Police, Fire Personnel, Tow Truck industry and other First Responders.  In the words of one of the trainers, "the more agencies represented in the class the better".

Highway Incident Management Training for ALL Emergency Responders including Law Enforcement, Fire, EMS, EMA/ESDA, Highway Departments, Townships, Villages/Municipalities, Tow Truck operators and Volunteers who might be called to assist at an incident.  This class is FREE, and you must register by March 26 to attend.
Space is limited so please register as soon as possible and we encourage you to split your personnel among all the different sessions to provide a good cross-section of agencies in each session, if possible.
Class sign-in begins 30 minutes prior to the start of each session.

Flood Inundation Mapping

Flood Inundation Map NOAA/USGS Flood Inundation mapping is now available to the public. These maps will show the extent of flooding that can be expected over a given area, helping indicate when floodwaters are likely to impact roadways, streets, buildings, etc. See it for yourself at the National Weather Service's Flood Inundation Mapping page.

Volunteers Wanted!
Without volunteers, this world would be a very different place. Anywhere you go, stories of the kindness and generosity of everyday people reaching out to help others can be heard.Be a volunteer in your community. Every person has a skill that can be offered during an emergency, and you never know whose lives you might be helping in doing so.
