Each year, approximately 300 community members gather to learn the ins and outs of severe weather hazards and what they can do to help keep our community safe.  In the past, this class has attracted a number of community leaders, public officials, and news stations from all over Northern Illinois and Eastern Iowa.

The purpose of this class is to educate our community of the dangers of severe weather, leaving them with an understanding of the general structure and movement of storms. We rely heavily on many of these individuals as volunteers during severe weather events in which their training provides them with the knowledge and ability to understand what is in front of them. When each second matters, being able to properly identify the features of an impending storm can mean everything to our communities.

WHEN:
Thursday, March 12, 2015 from 6:30 - 8:30 pm.
Registration will begin at 6:00 pm.

WHERE:
Highland Community College
Building H, Room 201
